Ruth Soukup sent me a copy of her new book, How Big is Your Brave, to read to my kids and tell you all about it. This was a good lesson-teaching book and the kids, even my older ones, sat and listened to what looked like a “little kid” picture book.
The characters are cute animals and the illustrations in the book are great. The story revolves around a bunny who is scared to go to space camp, even though she loves space. And along the way she learns some valuable lessons:
- Your why must be bigger than your fear
- Action is the antidote to fear
- Everyone needs accountability
- The only thing you can control is you
Because they’re shared in a simple story, the lessons, that might sound complicated, are brought down to a level where my kids were able to understand and were a great reinforcement to me, as the adult in the room, as I read to them.
This is definitely a great book to add to your home library!
