I always have a tough time coming up with a Father’s Day gift idea for grandpas – my dad and my father-in-law. They are old enough and have more money than we do so that they really can buy anything they need or want without our help. But I really think it’s an important gesture to show them how much we love and appreciate them. Now, add to the dilemma the fact that our budget isn’t very big and whatever it is has to be mailed since we live in another state and it gets even harder.
But, I was picking up a couple of things I needed at Target yesterday and found these awesome blank books in the dollar spot section ($3 for a pack of 8). I bought them thinking that they would be a great activity for the kids this summer to make their own books. And then I realized they would be the perfect start to a Father’s Day gift that was cheap, easy, and mailable!
Come up with a cute cover, have your kids draw one, or use mine (free printable). I printed it on card stock, the cut and attached with double stick tape. Then have your kids fill the inside with drawings or writing about what they love about Grandpa. There are 8 pages inside and you can always fill some of those pages with photos of Grandpa and the kids in addition to the things the kids want to draw or write about Grandpa.
