At Breanna’s last appointment with the ENT, he said that the oxygen wasn’t critical anymore but that he wanted her to continue on it, as a precaution, for another few months. He said if she reached a point where she was no longer able to tolerate it (couldn’t keep it in her nose) to give him a call. Well, we’ve reached that point. For the past several days, she spends all of her awake time trying to get that tube out of her nose and off her face. She’s always pulling at it, sometimes hard enough that she rips the adhesive that holds it on the sides of her head clear off of her face.
So, today I called the doctor’s office and spoke with a nurse. She read through the doctor’s notes from the last visit and when I told her what was going on, she said she would speak with the doctor and was sure he would have her put together a discharge plan to get her off the oxygen. She was hopeful that she could get back to me by the end of the day!
