Day 13 of the Clutter Free Challenge was the master bedroom. This has been the most exciting one for me so far. I’ve known that I needed some solutions and I finally found what I think will work great. A couple of months ago, I had put a small entryway type table in the corner of the room as a charging station. Now that I no longer have a home office, I needed a home for my laptop and also a place to charge my phone, iPad, etc that was out of the way and would get the cords up off the floor. The table with a power strip seemed to be the perfect solution. But I still had cords hanging all over the place and getting tangled in devices and the table was difficult to get to. It gave things a home but the messiness of it all was driving me crazy!
So, I moved an ottoman (that was mainly used for putting clutter on top of) out of the bedroom and moved the table to that corner since it would be more easily accessible (not partially behind a chair).
With my biggest challenge cleaned up, it was just a few items of clutter that needed to be put away. It’s been a few days since I did it and it just feels so good to walk into that room. I still fold my laundry on the bed but I try to have that all done as soon as I can after the laundry comes out of the dryer. On the days when that doesn’t happen, I store my laundry basket on a shelf in my closet instead of leaving it sitting out on the bedroom floor.
And this is my new home office space tucked away in a little corner. I used a small entry way table and command strips that are used for hanging pictures to attach the power strip to the top. I wrapped the cords so there wasn’t a lot of slack and loose cords falling all over the place. I keep the computer mouse and a couple other items in the drawer. Underneath is my hanging file box where I organize my bills and a couple of binders in the corner that I use for my calling at church. I love it!
