My kids love to draw and they seem to have a talent for it, too. We let our oldest do an after school art class one semester but the cost and time to have all 4 school age kids involved is a lot. They get their art gene from my husband, definitely not from me. So, thinking that I could help them develop their talents is kind of laughable.
Then, I discovered this super awesome website. It’s called Art for Kids Hub. They have all sorts of projects with video tutorials. We mostly do the drawing videos, but there’s also a few sculpting videos, origami, and painting.
The videos are great! Rob takes the kids through a drawing project step by step and has a child doing it right with him on the screen. He has a really energetic and fun personality that makes it enjoyable to watch. My kids will sit and do one drawing after another and they’ve done some pretty awesome stuff (see pics below done by my 7 & 9 year olds). You can sort the drawing videos by type or age and it’s amazing what kids can do with the step by step instructions.
They’ve made a ton of them available for free, but we’ve gotten so much benefit from it that I wanted to support the site and decided to become a member for just $34.99 a year which is so cheap for how often we use it. Seriously, pull up the site next time your kids are looking for something to do. If they like to draw at all, I’m sure they’ll love it!
